DRC Director participated in a full day of Liberating Structures training at the Clinton School of Public Services. The immersion workshops were described as follows:
Would you like to increase the impact of your meetings, class sessions, events, or programs by engaging everyone in meaningful ways? Liberating Structures shift the way we meet, plan, decide, and relate to one another. They quickly foster lively participation and, by making it easy to include and unleash everyone, transform the performance of any group. Used alone or in combinations they are very versatile over a wide range of applications from helping to shape everyday solutions to developing robust strategies.
We invite you to experience Liberating Structures, learn what they are and how to incorporate them into your work and life. Come if you think there is room for improvement in your meetings, classrooms, organizations, departments, government structures, and more.
Program facilitators will include Henri Lipmanowicz and Keith McCandless, co-developers of Liberating Structures and authors of the book The Surprising Power of Liberating Structures: How to Unleash a Culture of Innovation.
Based on this and earlier training, the DRC Director will lead a concurrent session in July 2015 at the AHEAD (Association on Higher Education and Disability) annual conference in St. Paul, Minnesota, on incorporating Liberating Structures in our campus activities to get optimal results (session 4.5).
