Juneteenth Celebration

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock community came together on Monday, June 20, to mark the university’s first celebration of Juneteenth, the oldest national commemoration of the ending of slavery in the country.

The celebration provided UA Little Rock students, employees, alumni, and friends with the opportunity to celebrate African American history and culture. The day featured a Juneteenth historical reenactment and a Black-owned food truck festival as well as the release of a cookbook (coming soon!).

Here’s a list of events:

Taste of Juneteenth – a Black-owned food truck festival that includes Goldfingers Woodfired Pizza, Spud Love, Jefferson Mobile Grilling, and Cheesecake On Point.
Time: noon – 2pm
Location: Campus Drive

Reenactment of Historic Juneteenth Events
Time: 1pm
Location: Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter Hall
