If you are now or intending to be an F-1 or J-1 student, you will need to upload proof of financial support. Multiple uploads are accepted. Learn more this requirement and acceptable documentation for financial support.
Sponsoring Dependents
If you have family members who would like to join you in the United States, you will sponsor them as F-2 or J-2 dependents. Additional financial support will be needed, along with copies of each dependent’s passport.
Shipping Preference
Once students meet the minimum thresholds for an I-20, they will be sent a copy of their I-20 along with supplementary information and documents through email. It is important to understand that the I-20 received via email is recognized by US government entities such as the US Department of State and US Customs and Border Protection during the visa interview and entry process. For more information about SEVP guidance, please visit this website. Prior to your visa interview, be sure to print a hard copy of your I-20 and sign the first page.
However, if students prefer to obtain their physical I-20, they may request that their I-20 be mailed to them through standard postal service at no charge and without tracking details. This mailing option is offered by the United States Postal Service within the US. Please be aware that it may take a minimum of 6 to 12 weeks to receive your I-20, depending on your geographical location.
If you would prefer to make courier arrangements through UEMS (eShipGlobal), you may do so. You may also pick up your documents from the ISS front desk or give permission for a friend to collect them on your behalf. Learn more about our mailing options.
Note: Make courier arrangements only after you have received notification that you I-20 or DS-2019 is complete.
