Meredith Maddox Hicks
Meredith Maddox Hicks joined the UA Little Rock music faculty in 2007. She is the Visiting Lecturer of Violin and Viola at the University of Arkansas Little Rock; a position made possible through partnership between the University and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Meredith received her B.M. degree in Violin Performance from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and M.M. degree from Florida State University. She also completed a year of study at the Russian Academy of Music, Gnessin Institute, in Moscow, Russia.
Meredith maintains a large private violin studio and is a member of the Suzuki Association of Central Arkansas and the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She has taught at several summer music festivals including Wildwood Academy of Music and Arts, Faulkner Chamber Music Festival, Little Rock Adult Chamber Music Festival and camps at Florida State University and Stephen F. Austin University.
Currently, she is a member of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and its flagship string quartet, the Quapaw Quartet. She also plays in the UA Little Rock faculty piano trio, the Albani Trio. Meredith is thrilled to be the 2016 winner of the Belmont Encore Award for outstanding alumni in classical music.
