At CINS, we are developing an environmentally friendly method of hydrogen production. Our researchers have already created novel nanostructural materials that are photocatalytically active and have the capacity to break water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen under UV exposure.
Our researchers have fabricated a novel and facile nanocap device by coating titanium dioxide nanotubes with a nano-layer of titanium disilicide for improved photo-electrochemical hydrogen generation. We have also optimized the growth parameters for indium tin oxide using Atomic Layer Deposition (in collaboration with Stanford Nanoscale Facility).
