Thibeault earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo., and a Master of Fine Arts degree in dance with an emphasis in choreography at the University of Maryland in College Park.

She has also studied with the Joe Goode Performance Group in San Francisco, Calif.; Limon Institute in New York City; Parsons Dance Company in College Park, Md.; and Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York City. Thibeault has taught at numerous schools and universities in Kansas, Maryland, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

This year, the Arkansas Arts Council awarded nine artist fellowships worth $4,000 each. Fellowships are awarded annually to artists in Arkansas in recognition of their individual artistic abilities. The awards enable artists to set aside time for creating their art and improving their skills. Three artistic disciplines are selected each year as categories for the awards. The three categories for this year are dance choreography, literary non-fiction, and works on paper.

The fellowship recipients were selected by a jury of out-of-state professional artists, writers, performers and art administrators.

Tickets to the awards luncheon are $35 and may be purchased by calling 501-324-9766.
