Trojan women’s basketball team participates in Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge

University of Arkansas at Little Rock

University of Arkansas at Little Rock Trojan fans have a chance to make a difference in the fight against cancer during the month of February, as all Sun Belt Conference member institutions will be participating in the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge.

For all Trojan women’s basketball games between February 1 and March 5, fans can pledge a dollar amount for every 3-pointer the Little Rock women’s basketball team makes. All funds raised will go to the American Cancer Society.

Each Sun Belt school has a unique donation page, allowing fans to compete against other schools to raise money for a great cause. The website features an interactive leaderboard so fans can view the standings.

Fans who make a “Diamond” or “Gold” tier pledge of $2.50 or $2 per 3-pointer will receive a Coaches vs. Cancer 3-point T-shirt. Fans can also make a one-time donation of any amount, with a $100 donation earning a T-shirt.

Fans can sign up immediately or at any point during the month of February.

During this weekend’s games at the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Louisiana on Thursday and Saturday, the Sun Belt Conference will also be uniting in support of Appalachian State head coach Angel Elderkin in her fight against endometrial cancer.

During both games this weekend, players will be wearing special warm-up shirts while coaches will be wearing suits with sneakers. Team staff will be provided peach ribbons to wear as well.
