The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Art Gallery will open the fall season with the exhibit, “Alchemy6: 18th Biennial International Juried Enamel Exhibition and 14th International Juried Student Enamel Exhibition.”
The Alchemy6 exhibit will run from Sept. 22 to Oct. 14 in the Cushman Gallery in the Windgate Center of Art and Design. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Alchemy, a term that refers to a seemingly magical power of transmutation as well as the ancient chemical philosophy of turning base metal into gold or silver, can apply to enamel as it is magically transformed by heat.
The exhibits highlight the best in contemporary enamels. The International Juried Exhibition showcases the work of enamelists that demonstrate aesthetic and technical expertise, while the Student Exhibition features the work of students throughout the world.
The UA Little Rock Art Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by appointment. For more information, contact 501-916-3182 or email Nathan Larson, interim gallery director, at email@example.com.
