Pitman Discusses Employee Motivation and Engagement in UA Little Rock Leadership Lecture Series

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will welcome alumnus J.J. Pitman, director of the C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center, as the next speaker for the Leadership Lecture Series in the Department of Applied Communication.

Pitman will give his presentation, “Motivation/Engagement in Today’s Organizational Environment,” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Focusing on leading by example, Pitman’s lecture will help listeners understand various ways to confront challenges faced by employers to help keep employees motivated and engaged.

Pitman graduated from UA Little Rock in 2003 with a master’s degree in interpersonal and organizational communication. He is also a graduate of Leadership Greater Little Rock and LeadAR. His experience includes conducting leadership and team development training, consulting, and working with youth through Arkansas 4-H Center programs. He has served as director of the Arkansas 4-H Center for eight years, having previously worked as director of development for University of Arkansas Extension programs.

The Leadership Lecture Series features presentations by faculty and graduates of the Department of Applied Communication at UA Little Rock in the areas of communication, management, and leadership.
