Frank received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His primary area of research is philosophy of science, in particular the nature of scientific reasoning. Additionally, he works on issues concerning ethics and critical thinking, especially in relation to new and emerging technologies. He has a wide variety of teaching interests, including metaphysics, epistemology, and applied ethics. He is the co-host of the podcast Philosophy on the Fringes, which explores the philosophical dimensions of the strange and the mundane.
