New policy, Publication of Website Privacy Practices, adopted

On April 4, 2019, Chancellor Andrew Rogerson approved Policy 204.7 – Publication of Website Practices. This is a new policy and was needed because the university did not have a policy requiring the publication and maintenance of website privacy practices. The policy does three key things:

  1. Defines “official websites.”
  2. Requires that all privacy-related practices involving official websites be published on the website.
  3. Identifies three entities charged with maintaining/updating the privacy practices document (Communications and Marketing, IT Services, and General Counsel).

The policy was drafted by the university’s web team and IT Services and recommended for approval by Vice Chancellor for University Advancement, Christian O’Neal.
