University Website Redesign Update

Dear Campus Community,

Here is an update on the progress the Office of Communications and Marketing is making toward the redesigned university website. We are in Phase 2 of our timeline. This phase is where we will begin work on how the website pages are organized. During this phase, we look forward to inviting the campus community to participate in focus groups and discussions. This will give you the chance to offer feedback and learn more about the goals for the website. We will share more about these opportunities later.

We also continue to work with numerous departments to audit and update their websites. We know how important the website is in helping people learn more about UA Little Rock, and we are appreciative to the many faculty and staff who have been working with us on their content audits.

The School of Social Work site was recently audited and updated. Here is a before and after of that homepage. We updated the pages and relied on site analytics to determine the best way to improve and reorganize the navigation (menus and links) so that the relevant information would be easier to find.

Before and After

Additionally, as a university that serves many first-generation students, we are working to ensure that site menus use words and phrases that are easy to understand. We recently sent out an online preference test to several student groups to help in these efforts. When these results are compiled, we will share them with the campus community along with how we plan to utilize the data. We greatly appreciate our students who completed the brief exercise!

We appreciate your support during this process. The university redesign site has additional information about how to get started reviewing your site. Our Project Blog also includes some helpful tips and updates.

Thank you and Go Trojans!
