The annual Veterans Day Celebration was held on Tuesday, November 11 in the Donaghey Student Center. Chancellor Anderson welcomed guests and thanked veterans for their service and stressed the importance of honoring the sacrifices made my so many men and women. “All of them have, in a sense, signed their names along with the Founding Fathers below the words of the Declaration of Independence, ‘we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor’, Anderson said.”
The keynote speaker for the ceremony was Nicole Hart, UALR graduate and former combat lifesaver for the 39th Infantry Brigade Headquarters Company Support Battalion, which lost the most soldiers in a single tour for the Arkansas National Guard during the war in Iraq.
