Professor of Educational Leadership
Dr. Ann Robinson is a professor in the department of Teacher Education/Education Leadership and the founding director of the Jodie Mahony Center for Gifted Education.
In 2001, Dr. Robinson founded the Mahony Center–a multi-purpose unit serving teachers and children through graduate and professional development programs for gifted education. For years, the center has also served as a hub for the Arkansas Advanced Placement Summer Institute, an archive for curriculum materials and empirical research. She also coordinates the Summer Laurate University for Youth, a summer enrichment program for academically talented children taught by education students. Every summer, the three-week program assists in training teachers of gifted and talented students. Dr. Robinson also works closely with her students. She is known as a mentor to her students and teaches them to be mentors themselves. Her education students, in turn, learn how to nurture and grow talent in their own classrooms.
Dr. Ann Robinson has a B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of Wyoming, and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Purdue University.
