The Ottenheimer Library cordially invites UA Little Rock students to apply for the Karen Russ Memorial Award for Excellence in Research. This prestigious award offers an award amount of $500. This award, which will be deposited into the student’s school account, can be used for various education-related expenses, including but not limited to books, fees, room and board, and more. To be considered for this award, applicants must use, apply, or visualize government data in the research project that will be presented during the 2024 UA Little Rock Student Research and Creative Works Expo on April 19, 2024.
The Ottenheimer Library established the Karen Russ Memorial Award for Excellence in Research in memory of our esteemed colleague, Karen Russ. Karen dedicated over 20 years of service as the government documents librarian and assisted UA Little Rock students and faculty in research, specializing in government information, data, and statistics.
We encourage all eligible students to submit an application for this award. As part of the application process, the applicant must submit a list of resources used in their research project, formatted in APA style. Each citation must include a direct link to the resource to help the award committee verify use. Note: Projects which do not use government data for research will not be considered for the award.
Applications are due by March 15, 2024.
