Dr. Nancy Andrews Collins

Nancy Collins
2015 University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business Dean’s Award for Excellence recipient

Dr. Nancy Andrews Collins is an associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, she received her B.A. from Fisk University and her M.D. from Meharry Medical College both in Nashville, Tennessee. Her residency training in OB/GYN was completed at UAMS.

After residency she joined the faculty at UAMS. In addition to teaching medical students and residency, Dr. Collins acted as the medical director of the resident clinic and as the residency program director.

Although  board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, the management positions made her realize she needed additional schooling to understand the business of medicine.

In 2009, Collins received her MBA from the Executive MBA program at UALR. She said the knowledge and experience gained during the 18-month program has proven invaluable in her understanding of the complicated business component of medicine.

She resides in Little Rock with her husband, Kevin, also a physician, and their teenage twins, Max and Miles.
