Trojans volunteer with Salvation Army
University of Arkansas at Little Rock student-athletes accumulated more than 250 volunteer hours with the Salvation Army over the recent holiday period.
The Trojans were stationed at kettle locations across Pulaski County as bell ringers.
From Black Friday through Christmas Eve each year, The Salvation Army rings bells outside local stores as part of its largest fundraiser of the year. The Red Kettle Campaign provides food and shelter for the homeless, assists with utilities and medicines for needy families, and supports Salvation Army Christmas programs for the central Arkansas area.
“Our student-athletes did a superb job getting around central Arkansas to help with the Kettle Campaign,” Senior Woman Administrator and Head Swimming Coach Amy Burgess said. “Our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee helped coordinate, and it was great to see so many get involved.”
