After taking a year off due to COVID-19, the popular Rent-A-Puppy event will return to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on Friday, April 16.

The UA Little Rock community will have the opportunity to play and socialize with rescue and shelter dogs of all ages from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 16 in the Chi Omega Courtyard outside Ottenheimer Library.

Rent-A-Puppy offers dog rescue and shelter organizations in central Arkansas some public exposure and gives their adoptable dogs an opportunity to receive affection and, potentially, new homes.

Attendees may rent a dog for 10 minutes for $5. Toys will be provided, and dogs will be on leashes. Also new to this year’s event is Paws for Wishes. For $10, participants may enter their pet in the pet pageant. Winners will be announced via social media.

UA Little Rock’s Chi Omega Gamma Zeta chapter organizes the event, which raises funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, one of the focuses of the chapter’s philanthropy. The national nonprofit organization grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
