Faller Wins Two Awards in National Federation of Press Women Contest

Angelita Faller, news director at UA Little Rock, received two awards in the National Federation of Press Women’s 2022 communications contest held June 25. The awards were presented during the organization’s annual conference in Fargo, N.D.

Faller earned second place in the Publication Regularly Written by Entrant, Newsletter category for the UA Little Rock Now newsletter. The online publication features articles about students, faculty, staff and events as well as a UA Little Rock in the News section.

Faller also earned an honorable mention in the Specialty Articles, Travel category for her article “Coach Wylie Flies UA Little Rock Flag on Mount Kilimanjaro.” The piece is about Jenna Wylie, head women’s golf coach, who completed her goal of climbing the highest single freestanding mountain in the world.

State awards were presented in May during a ceremony hosted by the organization’s Arkansas affiliate, Arkansas Press Women, at the Bailey Alumni and Friends Center. The national award-winning entries had previously placed first in the Arkansas Press Women’s 2022 professional communications contest before advancing to the NFPW competition.
