Although a sociologist at heart, Dr. Sarah Beth Estes is currently serving as the dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Science and Education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Dr. Sarah Beth Estes graduated from Hendrix College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Iowa. She was a faculty member at the University of Cincinnati for six years before coming to UA Little Rock.
Dr. Estes has served in many leadership roles at the university, including the Dean of the College of Arts, Letters, and Sciences, Associate Dean of the College of Social Science and Communication, the coordinator of the Gender Studies program, director of community initiatives, and many more. In the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, she taught Social Statistics, Research Methods, and Introduction to Sociology. Her research interests include gender, work, and family.
