A minor in anthropology offers students the opportunity to study present-day cultures and those of the past. The general background on human behavior covered by this minor helps prepare students for a variety of careers. It requires 18 credit hours of anthropology courses, including ANTH 1415 Physical Anthropology and ANTH 2316 Understanding Cultures.
Topics include subsistence strategies, politics, religion, gender, ethnicity, economics, and socialization as well as human genetics, forensic anthropology, and the human fossil record.
