Angel Named Director of Development for UALR College of Business

Andrea Angel, who has worked in sales and development for the UALR Department of Athletics since 2005, has been announced as the new Director of Development for the UALR College of Business.

“We’re thrilled for Andrea and her family,” said UALR Director of Athletics Chris Peterson. “She did an outstanding job for us over the past eight years. We’ll miss her, but we’re glad her new position allows her to stay in the UALR family.”

Angel was hired as the Department of Athletics’ Director of Sales in 2005, a role she served in until 2011, when she was promoted to Director of Athletic Development. She was named the department’s Senior Woman Administrator in 2007, serving as the spokesperson for the needs and interest of women in the Department of Athletics.

As Director of Athletic Development, she worked toward the long-term financial support of UALR’s athletic programs. Angel oversaw all major gifts as well as the annual fund for the Trojan Athletic Foundation (TAF), and worked closely with the TAF’s Board of Directors.

Andrea Angel and Jack KinnamanShe was also responsible for oversight of the annual SpectacUALR event, raising an average of $190,000 per year to support UALR’s student-athletes.

A native of Anderson, Ind., Angel graduated magna cum laude from the UALR College of Business in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She was named the 2003 marketing student of the year and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society.

A member of the UALR women’s golf team from 1999-03, Angel was a three-year captain and was named to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List for earning a GPA of 3.5 or better following three of her four years on campus.

Before coming to UALR, Angel worked as the outside sales representative for Southern Coating and Nameplate Inc. and as a manager with Vector Marketing Corporation.
