Student Spotlight: The Story of Ayhan Ozturk

I am an international doctoral student in the Educational Administration and Supervision Program. From the day I initiated my application to where I am at now as a doctoral dissertator, I have had an all-around great experience at the UA Little Rock. My advisor, professors, and my fellow classmates in the cohort have made me feel that I am part of the UA Community. The UA Little Rock has become the place where my education dreams come true!

I am currently running a cross-national study where I comparatively examine the determinants and outcomes of teachers’ work engagement and commitment in Turkey and the United States. I plan to present and publish my work in the national and international conferences and publishing outlets. I am most proud of my recent recognition as a 2020 Class of Clark Scholar. This is one of the most prestigious programs that offers mentorship for emerging scholars and it is sponsored by the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the University Council of Educational Administrators (UCEA). As part of the program, I am invited to attend the 2020 David L. Clark Graduate Research Seminar that will be held at the 2020 Annual AERA Conference in San Francisco on April 16, 2020.

I plan to graduate in fall 2020 and go back to my home country to serve as an educational specialist at the Ministry of Education of Turkey. I have high hopes to pursue teaching and running research at the Universities and represent UA Little Rock worldwide.

I am very proud that I am UA Little Rock Trojan!…

Thank you,

Ayhan Ozturk
