Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) oversees requirements for the UA Little Rock campus in complying with federal, state, and local regulations, such as NFPA fire codes, Arkansas Department of Labor (ADOL) safety codes, and the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). In addition, EH&S performs the following safety related duties:
- Chemical hygiene
- Radiation safety
- Scheduling asbestos assessment and abatement
- Scheduling indoor air quality Testing
- Hazardous materials management
- Accident investigation
- Occupational safety training
- Laboratory safety
- Stormwater management

If you are in need of chemical waste pickup, log in to the EHS Assistant system above. Then click on the “Waste Pickup Request” icon and follow the directions from there.
Click here if you need to report an environmental, health safety, or chemical hygiene concern, such as:
- A violation of university policy or governmental regulation that apply to environmental health, chemical hygiene, or occupational health and safety
- Equipment, tools, or personal protective equipment required to perform work safely that are found to be in poor condition or non-existent
- Conditions or actions in the workplace that could inflict harm to employees or the environment.
