July 15 Payroll Deductions and Benefits Issues

As many of us assumed, transitioning from Banner to Workday was not a flawless process. As for the July 15 payroll, there are two issues which we are aware of and working on resolving. First, we noticed that 147 employees’ tax deductions were not correct, which we have now mostly resolved, other than a few with very minor (less than $25) differences. The small discrepancies should be resolved through our manual check process by tomorrow.

Today a more widespread issue with the process for reporting our various retirement (TIAA, Fidelity, etc.), Health Savings and Flexible Spending accounts developed for all University of Arkansas campuses that are currently transitioning to Workday. For each account, a separate email was sent to payroll with a request for their approval before it would post to individuals’ accounts, meaning thousands of emails needed responses. The Project One Team is diligently working to correct this but you may not be able to see your July 15 contributions for a few days. We are confident when all is resolved your contribution will be effective as of July 15.

Thank you for working with us as we transition to a much more modern ERP to better serve our university and the U of A System as a whole.
