The Bachelor of Science in Civil and Construction Engineering combines the principles of both civil engineering and construction engineering. The unique program focuses on structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering. The program also exposes students to materials engineering, water resources engineering, highway engineering, and surveying.
Graduates will be prepared for successful engineering or management careers in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry or related fields.
Program graduates must pass the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and Associate Constructor (AC) Certification exams which will prepare them to quickly become certified Engineering Interns (EI) and Associate Constructors (AC), making them very desirable to employers.
Along with passing the FE and AC exams, students must achieve a 2.00 GPA in all required civil and construction engineering courses. Students must also complete 800 hours of work experience in an approved construction-related activity. This provides students with valuable experience. Student organization volunteer hours can count toward the requirement.
