Dr. Rajesh Jugulum to Speak in the UALR Colloquium Series September 19th

Dr. Rajesh Jugulum, Director of Global Data Startegies at Cigna, will give a presentation on September 19th as part of the Integrated Computing Colloquium Series sponsored by the Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). Dr. Jugulum will discuss key elements of a holistic data quality (DQ) approach that businesses can adopt to energize their DQ innovation processes, perfect their data gathering and usage practices and ensure that robust and reliable data is available to make judicious decisions. The proposed DQ approach that is based on DAIC (Define, Assess, Improve and Control) project life cycle, is a structured, systematic, and disciplined approach to ensure that we are getting satisfactory levels of data. This in turn, strikes a balance between rigor and creativity resulting in reduced DQ assessment and issue resolution times. The presentation will start at 3:00 pm in room EIT 218.

Prior to joining Cigna, Dr. Jugulum held executive positions at Citi Group and Bank of America. Before joining the financial industry, Dr. Jugulum was with MIT, where he was involved in research and teaching.  Currently, he also teaches at Northeastern University, Boston.  Dr. Jugulum is the author/co-author of several papers and four books including a book on data quality. His honors include 2002 American Society for Quality’s Feigenbaum medal and 2006 International Technology Institute’s Rockwell medal. Dr. Jugulum also holds an appointment as an Affiliate Member of the UALR Information Quality Graduate Faculty.
