During the mandatory international student orientation prior to the start of each semester, all new F-1 and J-1 international students and visiting scholars are required to report to International Student Services. To report bring the following to orientation or the Office of International Student Services.
Step One: Bring immigration documents to Orientation
Bring the following documents to international student orientation:
- Passport
- Form I-20 or DS-2019
- Printed I-94
- Retrieved from www.cbp.gov/i94
- Above documents for all dependents
Step Two: Update your personal information in BOSS
Update BOSS with the following information under the “Personal Information” tab:
- Physical US address
- Active Phone Number
- Emergency Contact
Update information within 10 days of any change throughout duration of student immigration status.
Step Three: Enroll full-time for class
Your Immigration Reporting hold will be removed after steps one and two, but the final reporting to SEVIS will be finalized once you register for a full course load in your first semester.
All students who successfully report to ISS will be registered as ACTIVE in SEVIS within 30 days of your program start date. You may request expedited registration if you plan to get your drivers license or if you have a job offer.
