Campus Cybersecurity Experts Panel Discussion 2-3 p.m. Thursday, October 21

IT Services supports National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM), an event which has been observed every October since 2003. NCSAM is a collaboration between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Cyber Security Alliance and was created to ensure that every individual stays safe and secure online. The theme for 2021 is ‘Do You Part #BeCyberSmart’.

Logo for National Cybersecurity Awareness MonthIT Services is pleased to sponsor a special panel discussion of cyber security experts from UA Little Rock faculty; Dr. Philip Huff, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, and Dr. Nitin Agarwal, Jerry L. Maulden-Entergy endowed chair and distinguished professor of information science and director of the Collaboratorium for Social Media and Online Behavioral Studies (COSMOS).

They will be joined by Dr. Thomas Bunton, Chief Information Officer at UA Little Rock, and Dr. Veysel Erdag, Chief Information Security Officer at UA Little Rock. Dr. Erin Finzer, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, will moderate the discussion.

Please join us in Dickinson Hall Auditorium 100 for what promises to be a very timely and informative discussion on how we can learn to improve our online security. The panel will also share recent cyber security events that have occurred on campus. Following the discussion, the panel will be available for a Q&A session. The event is open to the entire campus.
