The library offers writing and speech assistance along with research support conveniently located at the heart of the campus. Face-to-Face and online appointments are available Monday – Thursday from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. You also have the option to drop-in during normal hours, but we recommend you schedule an appointment.
The University Writing Center and Communication Skills Center offer additional hours for drop in and scheduled support. Each location is staffed with trained interns and graduate assistants who are ready to serve you. The last day for fall 2019 writing and speech support will be Tuesday, December 3 from 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm.
PrepStep offers additional self-paced online tutoring options
In addition to our in-house writing and speech support, you can access online tutoring modules for help with math, reading, writing, science, and preparing for graduate admissions exams with Prep-Step. Registration is required, but is free to UALR students.
Meet Zack Jones, Graduate Assistant for Communication Support and Training
Zack graduated in spring 2018 with a BA in Applied Communication and a minor in Professional and Technical Writing. He is currently working on his MA in Applied Communication where he hopes to study how communication apprehension impacts students in the classroom. After graduating, Zack hopes to continue his education to obtain a PhD in Communication so that he can share with others to help co-create better social worlds. He also hopes to get a Master in Library Information Sciences so that he can also play a role in the library systems. Zack has experience working in Human Resources, building and delivering trainings, managing anxiety, outlining and delivering presentations, providing feedback, and brainstorming ideas.
