Applying for scholarships at UA Little Rock is an important part of your college journey. Incoming freshmen and transfer students only need to apply for admission to UA Little Rock in order to be considered for most of our institutional scholarships (institutional scholarships are the ones that come from the university).
Department Scholarships
To apply for a department scholarship, UA Little Rock students will use Scholarship Universe. This is a matching tool that will show you the scholarships that you qualify for based on the criteria you select.
David A. Schonert Endowed Scholarship
Established in honor of Dr. David A. Schonert, a faculty member in the department for 20 years, with broad interests in the humanities as well as mathematics and statistics.
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in any major or graduate program offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Arts- and humanities-related pursuits and financial need will be strongly considered. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. This scholarship is renewable; recipients must reapply annually.
Successful applicants will be required to write a letter of appreciation to the donors.
Ann Jameson Wilson Math Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in mathematics. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
DeWoody and Emily Fleming Dickinson Math Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student in his or her sophomore or junior year. Academic accomplishments will be given the highest consideration with financial need weighing second to academics. Leadership skills and involvement with math activities will also be considered.
Jerry and Sherri Damerow Endowed Mathematics and Statistics Scholarship
Open to all students pursuing an undergraduate degree in mathematics. Applicants must demonstrate academic accomplishment. Financial need will be strongly considered. This scholarship is renewable; recipients must reapply annually.
Linda and Tom McMillan Mathematics Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in any major offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, with preference given to juniors and seniors. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Ma Endowed Family Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in mathematics. Preference will be given to juniors and seniors. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
Mathematics and Statistics Faculty Endowed Award
Awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in any major offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Applicants must be undergraduates who demonstrate academic accomplishment. Financial need will be considered, but it will not be a determining factor.
Dr. Alan M. Johnson Endowed Scholarship
The Dr. Alan M. Johnson Endowed Scholarship is a private scholarship established by the family of Dr. Johnson who was a long-time faculty member and department chair.
