We have created the Employee Recognition Program to honor employees in the division who support our mission through excellence in student retention, customer service, leadership, and morale building. Please take a moment to nominate a colleague to receive an Excellence Award.
Awards
Excellence Award for Student Retention
Criteria:
- Seeks ways to continually remove barriers when interacting with students
- Identifies creative ways to positively impact retention
- Collaborates effectively across units to help students persist
- Nominator’s description of why the employee should receive this award, including specific examples and the criteria.
Excellence Award for Customer Service
Criteria:
- Interacts in a friendly and helpful manner with both students and colleagues even when having a bad day
- Goes above and beyond to assist individual students as needed
- Suggests new ways to improve the quality of services to students
- Nominator’s description of why the employee should receive this award, including specific examples and the criteria.
Excellence Award for Leadership
Criteria:
- Demonstrates ability to creatively problem-solve
- Shows willingness to assist beyond normal expectations
- Develops trust and credibility through open, respectful communication and demonstrating accountability
- Nominator’s description of why the employee should receive this award, including specific examples and the criteria.
Excellence Award for Morale Building
Criteria:
- Demonstrates concern for morale of colleagues
- Offers support assistance, and encouragement to colleagues
- Demonstrates positive and productive attitude even in difficult situations
- Nominator’s description of why the employee should receive this award, including specific examples and the criteria.
Eligibility
- Must be an employee of Student Affairs for at least six months.
- Must have not received any disciplinary notice or action within the past 12 months
Selection committee
- Comprised of senior leadership
- Committee members are ineligible to be nominated
- Will review and score the nominations
- Vice Chancellor has final say over award selection
Selection process
Following the close of nominations for that time period, senior leadership will review nominations and make selections based on rubric.
