Getting Started with Blackboard

Whether you’re new to online learning or just looking for a refresher to bring you up-to-speed, there are plenty of options for getting oriented with Blackboard at UA Little Rock.

I can't attend orientation, but I still need help with Blackboard.

Please reach out to Blackboard Student Support to request an appointment, and a member of the support team will reach out to make arrangements to meet with you by phone or web conference. Be sure to include the times and dates that work best for you and your preferred method of contact when you reach out to arrange a meeting.

Am I required to complete an orientation to Blackboard?

There are no general requirements that say you must complete the self-paced orientation or attend one of the scheduled events detailed on this page, but some units on campus or individual instructors may specifically require you to show evidence of completion.

I can't find the information I'm looking for. What do I do next?

If you’re having trouble finding the answers to your questions, you can always reach out to the ASK Desk, which can be reached during business hours year round apart from major holidays and winter break by emailing ask@ualr.edu or calling 501-916-3000.

Are you experiencing a technical issue? You can find more information about campus technical support on the Blackboard Student Support website.

Attend an online synchronous orientation workshop

Each semester, the Office of eLearning conducts a series of workshops for students looking for basic information about Blackboard to help get them started with their online courses. These workshops are conducted virtually and geared toward new students with no prior experience with the system.
