Chancellor Attends Civil Rights Commemoration

Dr. Anderson participated in the Second Annual Arkansas Civil Rights Heritage Commemoration on Saturday, July 14 at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center Park. The celebration also marked the one year anniversary of the Institute on Race and Ethnicity.

This year’s honorees included the Little Rock Nine, L.C. and Daisy Bates, and attorney Christopher Mercer, Jr. Each individual was honored with a marker that will be placed on the Arkansas Civil Rights Heritage Trail. The Trail, which was established July 10, 2011, begins on West Markham Street at the Old State House Museum and runs the length of President Clinton Avenue.
