New Wellness Program is Coming Soon!

Dear UALR Community:

I’m sure you all have heard by now of the exciting new University of Arkansas wellness initiative entitled Onlife’s liveon for all U of A Health Plan participants and their spouses. This program is designed to assist participants in identifying ways to improve their health, set personal health goals, and provide support in reaching those goals so we all can live longer, healthier lives!

There are two initial steps you are encouraged to take to enroll in this program: (1) log onto www.OnlifeHealth.com, go to “Get Started” and use the initial password UAS. Follow the online directions to create your own user name and password – then complete the online health assessment; and (2) have your BIOMETRIC SCREENING done.

What is a BIOMETRIC SCREENING? Biometric screening consists of measuring each participant’s height, weight, waist circumference, BMI, blood pressure, pulse, and total cholesterol (including HDL, LDL, triglycerides, and glucose). It is one of the most important, yet simple, steps you can take to assess your risk of health problems such as heart disease and diabetes.

Biometric screenings will be done in UALR Health Services (DSC 102) on Thursday mornings starting October 25th through January 31, 2013. Call 569-3188 to SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT.

Please do not have anything to eat for at least 8 hours prior to your appointment (you may have water or black coffee without cream or sweetener.) The cost of these screenings will be covered by your U of A System Health Plan. Please bring your insurance card with you on the day of your appointment.

Once you have completed these two initial steps, you will receive a $25.00 GIFT CARD in the mail!

But, more importantly, you will be taking positive steps toward a healthier you! Feel free to contact Health Services if you have any questions.
