IQ Program Helps Develop IAIDQ Professional Certification

The International Association for Information and Data Quality (IAIDQ) is in the process of developing a professional certification in Information Quality ”“ Certified Information Quality Professional (CIQP).  According to an IAIDQ Press Release on September 9, 2008, current plans call for the certification to be available in the second quarter of 2009.

Dr. Elizabeth Pierce and Dr. John Talburt, faculty in the UALR Information Quality Graduate Program, along with a number of other leaders in the field of information quality, were invited to participate in workshop to develop the initial scope and outline of the examination.  The workshop was held October 3-5, 2008, in Morrisville, NC, headquarters for CASTLE Worldwide, Inc., one of the nation’s leading certification and licensure testing companies.

According to Dr. Talburt, “Dr. Pierce and I were pleased that the IAIDQ recognized our program as a key stakeholder in this important development for our discipline.”
