Workday Student Change Management and Project Status As Our Team Works to Deliver Milestone 1

As we all know, technical change is inevitable, and those changes keep coming faster and faster, making it sometimes seem overwhelming to keep up. However, for our campus to move with the times, we must embrace, accept, and feel confident about these changes, especially as we transition to Workday Student.

Workday Student will be the primary student administration system to support the processes and services associated with a student’s progression from admission through graduation, including student records, registration, course rosters, grading, advising, and transcripts.

All faculty, staff, and students will use Workday Student!

You may hear the names Project One, Deloitte, and Cohort 2. Project One is the University of Arkansas Systems team responsible for overseeing the implementation of Workday Student. Deloitte is our implementation partner. UA Little Rock is in Cohort 2 of the project, alongside the other 4 year institutions within the UA System.

The Milestone 1 project is currently being developed to align with the beginning of the student life cycle and enable undergraduate, graduate, and law admissions offices to begin feeding Fall 2025 applicant data into the Workday production environment.

We are deeply engaged in building integrations between our undergraduate and graduate Slate admissions application and Law School Admission Council (LSAC) Unite admissions application environments to support this need. We will continue to refine and test these integrations in anticipation of the upcoming milestone in July 2024.

Workday Student Core Team!

The Student Core Team deserves recognition and thanks for all the hard work they have contributed to this major project. Team members have been dedicated, hard-working, and vigilant while not only performing their critical “day” jobs, but also ensuring they are involved in every step of the building process of Workday Student for our UA Little Rock campus.

This implementation is a heavy-lifting effort for a generational change on our campus. The dedication and attentiveness to all the intricate parts that need to be covered are crucial for this implementation to run smoothly for our students and colleagues.
