UA Little Rock presents at the Open Education Southern Symposium, Oct 1-2

The Open Education Southern Symposium was held at University of Arkansas-Fayetteville on October 1st – 2nd, 2018. UA Little Rock faculty and staff had a strong representation:

Dr. Bob Belford (Chemistry) and Dr. Delmar Larsen (UC Davis) presented on “Developing a LibreText and the Application of Hypothes.is Web Annotations to Enhance Student Learning”

Dr. Annie Childers (Mathematics/Statistics) gave a lightning talk about “OER in Online Developmental Mathematics Classrooms”

Dr. Edma Delgado-Solozano (World Languages) and three of her students presented on “OER in Spanish Literature: A Review of Antología abierta de literatura hispana and the Critical Edition”

Dr. Amar Kanekar (CEHP) gave a lightning talk about the “Use of Open Education Resources in a Quality Matters Certified Community Health Course”

Carol Macheak and Cole Williamson (Library) presented on “Faculty Incentives to Adopt OER”

Dr. Brian Ray (Rhetoric & Writing) gave a lightning talk about “Open Access, Open Development: Creating Local Educational Resources for First-Year Writing”

Cori Schmidtbauer (STaR) presented on “Applying Instructional Design Strategies to Incorporate OER and Alternative Textbook Materials into Online Courses”

Dr. Jim Vander Putten (Education) presented on “Moving to Active OER Learning: Applying Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy in Education”
