Fred McAllen (’13) Featured by KTHV for Making Arkansas Restaurants Safer

Donaghey Scholars Honors Program alumnus Fred McAllen (’13) was featured last night on KTHV for his work making local restaurants safer. McAllen, a graduate of the UA Little Rock College of Business, started Safe Ice after servicing the refrigeration unit at his grandmother’s favorite restaurant and seeing it filled with mold. Inspired to use his management and entrepreneurial skills to make people safer, McAllen designed and started the business as his Donaghey Scholars Honors Program final project. Since then, the business has grown and now services over 100 clients in Central Arkansas, including restaurants, bars, nursing homes, and movie theaters.
