Online Course Design and Delivery: Asynchronous Training

The UA Little Rock eLearning team is proud to present faculty with two professional development training of Online Course Design and Delivery. The purpose of these two courses is to introduce new and returning faculty to best practices in online course design and delivery, and provide an opportunity for them to practice the skills and concepts they learn.

Design

The Design training consists of four modules with a total of seven lessons. The training will be conducted using the Blackboard learning management system, is 100% online, and asynchronous. After all module activities have been completed, participants will earn a badge for each module and receive a Certificate of Completion for the training.

Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Review various components of course design; and outline and the various components of a course to follow alignment. (Unit 1)
  • Recognize the different types of intellectual property and locate materials that can be used within a course. (Unit 2)
  • Describe various tools that can be used in building a course and select a tool to use in their own course creation. (Unit 3)
  • Identify and discuss the importance of accessibility and universal design for learning (UDL), and apply these concepts to their own course. (Unit 4)

You must be logged into your UA Little Rock email address in order to access the sign-up form. This Google Form is currently only available to UA Little Rock affiliates.

After you have completed the form, please allow 48 hours to be enrolled in this course in Blackboard. Once you have been enrolled, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to begin.

Please note that the Design course must be completed before the Delivery course can be taken.

Delivery

The Delivery course consists of four modules with a total of four lessons. The purpose of this course is to introduce learners to best practices in course delivery.

The training will be conducted using the Blackboard learning management system, is 100% online, and asynchronous.After module activities have been completed, participants will earn a badge for each module and receive a Certificate of Completion.

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss the importance of maintaining the three types of interactions that are present in online courses. (Module 1)
  • Identify and describe the various tools and technologies that can be used to build online learning communities. (Module 2)
  • Recognize the importance of instructor presence and identify methods for creating and maintain presence in an online environment. (Module 3)
  • Describe the different characteristics of providing good feedback to promote learner progress throughout the course. (Module 4)
