Video surveillance campus upgrade

IT Services is partnering with the Department of Public Safety to deploy a new round of video surveillance cameras that will significantly augment campus security. This initiative is designed as a two-year plan to deploy video cameras across all areas of the campus.

Phase one has already started this fiscal year and will focus on the campus residential areas. This phase will replace 300 aging hardware devices with new, higher resolution cameras that substantially improve student safety.

Phase two, scheduled to begin fiscal year 2023-2024, will expand surveillance in areas around the education buildings to provide better security. This phase also adds 200 cameras in campus buildings that are currently devoid of them or may have camera systems that are  old and non-functional.
