Frank H. Thurmond published his new book Ring of Five: A Novella and Four Stories this spring. As a featured author in the 2015 Arkansas Literary Festival in April, Thurmond’s session (moderated by Dr. Brad Minnick) considered the process of adapting fiction to film, and included readings from the new book along with associated clips from several short films Thurmond has adapted from his stories. (One of the films was directed by recent UALR English graduate Zach Roberson). Thurmond’s new film “The Dealer’s Tale” had its big screen premiere at this year’s Little Rock Film Festival in May.
