Arkansas Public Administration Consortium (APAC)

APAC offers management training for public sector professionals. We serve current and future leaders in government and nonprofits and we are dedicated to improving the quality of public services in Arkansas. Our programs are in-depth and develop practical skills. We hire talented instructors who are content experts and they train using best practices in adult learning.

APAC is a cooperative program of the University of Arkansas Little Rock (UA Little Rock), the University of Arkansas (UA), and Arkansas State University (ASU).

We offer a variety of training and certification programs. You can register individually for the programs that meet your professional goals. Each program includes participants from different backgrounds. You will develop new professional relationships and learn best practices from across the public sector.

Arkansas Certified Public Manager® Program 2024 Cohort

The Arkansas CPM Program is a nationally accredited, two-year program designed for managers and emerging leaders in the public sector. The 2024 program cohort will begin in late August 2024. Prospective applicants can learn more in this program overview.

2024 Certified Volunteer Manager Program

APAC’s Certified Volunteer Manager (CVM) Program equips professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead impactful volunteer programs. Through expert in-person instruction, aligned with international standards for volunteer management, participants will learn best practices for:

  • Recruiting, placing, supporting, supervising, engaging, and recognizing volunteers.
  • Developing policies and procedures to mitigate risks and liabilities associated with volunteer programs.
  • Designing and implementing strategic improvements to enhance your volunteer program’s effectiveness.

The CVM Program caters to anyone currently managing volunteers or volunteer programs, or those interested in enhancing their skills in this field. Both seasoned professionals and those new to the work find this program to be impactful.

Subdivisions Course: August 28, 2024 (Online)

The Subdivisions Course is the fourth course in the Arkansas Planning Official Training Program. It covers how a subdivision is defined, subdivision regulations and codes, plating procedures, plat approvals, and subdivision application reviews. It will be held on Wednesday, August 28, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Development Review & Variances Course: October 9, 2024 (Online)

The Development Review & Variances Course is the fifth course in the Arkansas Planning Official Training Program. It covers conditional uses, Conditional Use Permits, site plan reviews, development regulations, and variances. It will be held on Wednesday, October 9, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
