The Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) unit offers a masters degree and licensure in Gifted and Talented Education P-8 and/or 7-12. Additionally, candidates can earn a certificate in Teaching Advanced Placement.
The masters of education in teaching the gifted and talented provides specialized knowledge and competencies needed to meet the challenge of providing an appropriate education for children and adolescents with gifts and talents. Candidates in the program work with an advisor to design a plan of study tailored to their specific needs and career goals. The MEd is a 36 hour program.
