Eruore Oboh joins Bowen as Assistant Dean for Admissions and Enrollment Management

Eruore Oboh, a 2016 graduate of the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, will return to the law school on May 11, 2020 as Assistant Dean for Admissions and Enrollment Management.

Before returning to Bowen, Oboh spent almost three years at the University of Tulsa College of Law as the Assistant Director of Admissions and Diversity Initiatives and as the Admissions Counselor and Outreach Coordinator. During her time at TU Law, she enhanced pipeline programming and implemented diversity events, introduced virtual fairs to recruit law school candidates, and expanded the school’s pre-law offerings.

In 2018, Oboh helped TU Law attain the highest percentage of diversity (33%) in 15 years. In 2019, she helped yield the largest class at TU Law since 2010, increasing enrollment by 21%, increasing admitted students by 48%, and increasing applications by 7%. In 2019, 55% of TU Law matriculates were women, the second-highest female enrollment at the school in 21 years.

“The best part of my job is seeing a candidate’s awe when they learn about all the possibilities available with a law degree,” Oboh explained. “For me, it’s fulfilling to know my role has helped someone along their journey to being where and who they want to be professionally.”

She is looking forward to continuing that success at Bowen.

“I’d like to expand upon Bowen’s strong foundation and include programs that speak to audiences law schools do not normally consider, such as community college students,” she said. “I’d also like to introduce the values of inclusion and equity so that diverse law students feel welcomed and at home.”

Oboh sat on Tulsa’s university-wide Diversity Leadership Council and was the chair of the College of Law’s Diversity Committee. In 2019, she received the TU Graduate Diversity and Inclusion Coalition Equity Award.

While a student at Bowen, Oboh worked in the Admissions Office as a senior ambassador and seasonal recruiter. She was instrumental in helping create Bowen’s Law School Ambassador program. She assisted with on-campus recruiting events and represented Bowen at recruiting events nation-wide. She was part of the team that increased Bowen’s diverse applicants by 7% and overall applications by 22%.

“We’re very excited to have someone in this role who knows Bowen well and has such a successful track record in recruiting law students with an eye toward diversifying the profession,” Bowen Dean Theresa Beiner noted.

Before attending law school at Bowen, Oboh worked several years in human resources. She began her career in The Department of Human Resource Services of Newark Public Schools in New Jersey, where she completed rotations through the various offices of the department. She also served as the staff recruiter for Community Hope, Inc., a non-profit mental health agency located in New Jersey.

Oboh is also a graduate of La Salle University, where she obtained a clinical counseling master in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. She double-majored in Journalism and Psychology at Temple University.

In her free time, she enjoys writing, singing, cooking, and hanging out with family and friends.
