Bowen and Beyond Series

As a Bowen Bound student, we want to introduce you to the offices and teams critical to your success for your time here at Bowen and even after! Join us for our Bowen and Beyond Series. Each month we will be having conversations with a different dean or director and sharing more insight about Bowen.

Registration is required for each event in order for us to send you the meeting link.

Alumni Relations (Fri., Feb. 18) – Assistant Dean for External Relations Wanda Hoover will discuss how she and her staff can assist you both during your time at Bowen and after. Many Bowen alumni are active in life at Bowen whether they are instructors, speakers, or employers. External Relations can help you begin forming your network from your first day as a student.

Experiential Learning (Fri., Mar. 18) – Associate Dean for Experiential Learning & Clinical Programs Kelly Terry will discuss how Bowen’s legal clinics, public service externships, part-time practica, and skills courses impact your law school experience from your first semester to graduation. These courses help prepare you for your legal career and are prime examples of Bowen’s core values of access to justice, public service, and professionalism.

Bar Success  (Fri., Apr. 29) – Director of Academic Support and Bar Success Services Kristen Minton will explain how bar prep begins in your first semester. She will discuss how academic support plays a role in preparing you for the bar exam throughout your courses and exams, and how Bowen’s PASS Program gets you test-ready between graduation and the first day of the bar exam.

Career Services (Thurs., May 26) – Assistant Dean for Career Services Diana Snyder will share how her office can assist you in pursuing your career goals. She’ll cover resume reviews, mock interviews, and clerkship opportunities. Bowen students have opportunities that are unique to a capital city, and Career Services can help you make the most of them.

Library Resources and Faculty (Fri., June 24) – Associate Dean for Information and Technology Services Jessie Burchfield will discuss the many resources and services our library offers to our students. We will also discuss how the library can assist you with meeting and surpassing the expectations of your first-year professors.

Student Affairs (Fri., July 29) – Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Diversity Initiatives Rejena Grotjohn will discuss her department’s mission to support the academic success, professional development, and health and wellness of every student at Bowen. She’ll explain First Week–your introduction to life as a Bowen student–as well as programming designed to make you a successful, healthy, and well-balanced professional.
