As a state institution, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock complies with the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. The Arkansas FOIA, enacted in 1967, gives Arkansans access to governmental public records and public meetings, with limited exceptions. UA Little Rock’s files and records are generally subject to inspection and copying by citizens of Arkansas, unless there is an applicable exception to their disclosure.

The Office of Communications and Marketing is generally responsible for receiving and responding to FOIA requests. Requests may be submitted in person, by phone, fax, mail, or email, although a written request is advisable. If you are a citizen of Arkansas and wish to submit a FOIA request, please submit your request to the following between normal business hours:

UA Little Rock work units receiving such a FOIA request shall notify the Custodian of Records immediately. The Custodian of Records will work with the receiving unit, and, as needed, with University Legal Counsel, to develop a response. The unit possessing the requested documentation is responsible for researching and copying the requested records.
