Photography Priorities

The university photographer’s main responsibility is to capture images for the Office of Communications and Marketing.

The first priority is take photos of events, such as those hosted by the chancellor, commencement, award ceremonies, university celebrations, special guests, and alumni events. Admissions and recruitment initiatives; local, regional, or national news stories; advancement events, historic events, high-profile speakers, and images of student life, and the campus. Faculty and staff are also a priority.

Second priority assignments are those that students or freelancers can photograph and include some speakers, conferences, seminars, administrative or academic department needs (classroom photos, speakers, events, etc.)

Third priority assignments are those that students and freelancers can photograph and include group photos (clubs, committees, etc.), employee-centered events, receptions, student headshots for rosters, etc.

The university photographer has a list of freelance photographers who have worked on campus. Student photographers are sometimes assigned to take photos.
